UT RecSports
Trip Leader & Program Assistant

As a Trip Leader, I plan and lead outdoor adventure trips (e.g. backpacking, canoeing, caving, etc.) for diverse groups of 15 participants. Our trips include a variety of experience levels and are to locations within Texas and out of state. As a Program Assistant, I support full-time staff with planning and coordinating paperwork, budgets, and personnel. I act as a liaison between trip participants and guides to ensure that our trips run smoothly. A key component of these positions is teaching outdoor skills and safety ethics (e.g. Leave No Trace) so that we can foster a safe and sustainable outdoor recreation community.

Department of Marine Science
Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, I was in charge of a discussion section of 20 students. We met weekly and I would prepare materials to allow students to deepen their understanding of the lecture content and collaborate. I assisted students during office hours, which are outside of lecture time. I used the Canvas Learning Management System to maintain accuracy and consistency while grading course assignments and assessments.

Integrative Biology Department
Research Assistant

I assisted Dr. Amy Wolf and Dr. Caroline Farrior's biodiversity field inclusion experiment. My main task was to identify 12 native plant species (wildflowers and grasses) in central Texas and manually weed out the rest from 144

1x1 m plots. I surveyed the reproductive and total height of plants in select plots and maintained insect nets, weed cloth, and all other relevant infrastructure to the experiment.
